WHY EATING ITAL MAY BE RIGHT FOR YOU!
The world's appetite is changing, and we're exploring the ital table top with Jahmeila Reid.
Long time Kingston Belle, UWI student and health food fanatic Jahmeila Reid takes me through her New NATURAL AESTHETIC; Ital Living.
What is ital living?
In essence, ital livity (living) an organic lifestyle; from what you wear even down to what to you eat. When I say organic, I mean dealing and using items from Mother Earth. Also, in regard to lifestyle; ital means to live in such a way that it's pure and positive. A pure and healthy lifestyle using the NATURAL resources around you.
Is it difficult finding interesting and tasty food to eat within the bracket of it being an ital meal?
Yes it can be difficult. Especially if you're a new comer in the world of ital food. In the beginning, I already knew some good places that I could get ital food. The best time to get a good ital meal would be between 9:00AM through 3:00PM. I say this time frame because that's when the food is at it's peak in salivatory satisfaction. After awhile I went on my own individual search for ital spots. Asking in communities, if there were ital restaurants. And luckily I've has to pleasure to have eaten in some restaurants in the Kingston. However the most difficult thing is to get ital food in the nights. Except for a few fast place spots like in Half Way Tree. You're sure to get a hot meal up to 10:00PM.
What are the pros and cons of ital living?
PROS
• Probably healthier than how you already eat!
• It speeds up metabolism.
• It promotes not only physical health but also mental health.
• Gaining knowledge of various plants and seeds etc that can replace the carnivore lifestyle one had before taking up the Ital livity
• Spiritual wealth
CONS
• Weight loss. Once partaking in this lifestyle, weight loss is guaranteed.
• Eating too much of one thing. If one eats too much of one particular food. It puts more vitamins and minerals in the body. So it's a balance. Not too much of one thing. Include beans, seeds and vegetables to create that balance, in the right proportions.
• Fainting/Passing out. Since one has stopped or is preceding to cut off all meats. There is a chance that one can experience dizziness or weakness (speaking from personal experience). The body is getting used to this new change, so it's trying to adjust itself to the new YOU that's in the creation process.
• COST. The most integral aspect in the conversion to ital eating. Honestly, it's can be challenging on the pocket. However I believe the best way to get over that hurdle is to create a schedule of what you're going to eat. For instance time tabling what breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner would be. Also, be creative and cost effective! Nothing is impossible. Google recipes if necessary.
However, I say don't be afraid of the cons. It's a beautiful and wonderful journey. In the end you'll feel and look great! #ProudAdvocateoOfItalLiving
